Ameriflo VI Vertical Inline Pumps
5020 Series Vertical Inline
Ameriflo is excited to announce the final stages of their newest product offering, the 5020 VI Vertical Inline product line. This product line will be the most advanced and hydraulically efficient Vertical Inline product available for the Fire Protection industry. The Ameriflo distributor network has asked about the product line for the last three months and today we will take a sneak peak of what is to come.
The VI product was built from the ground up with the fire protection market in mind. Every aspect of its design from the actual hydraulic coverage to the materials of construction were built based on the very stringent NFPA 20 standard. This standard describes slope of curve requirements, suction characteristics, hydrostatic pressure requirements as well as bearing and shaft strength requirements. The product line was designed with minimum horsepower as the primary focus and as such, the Ameriflo VI product line has the lowest documented horsepowers available in the fire protection market today!!
Performance Characteristics
- Sizes: 2×2-8 to 6×6-13
- Flows: 50 to 1,500 GPM
- Pressures: 40 to 198 PSI
- Frequencies: 50 & 60 Cycle
- Speeds: 3550, 2950,1760 & 1450 RPM
The 5020 VI product line is coupled to a NEMA C-Face, JP Frame motor. This allows for a very compact footprint as well as a diverse horsepower coverage. Ameriflo VI Vertical Inline products are available from a very small 10 HP all the way up to 250 HP. This allows for one of the most diverse hydraulic coverages available from any vertical inline Fire Pump manufacturer.
All models feature investment cast, 304 stainless steel impellers and heavy wall, ductile iron casings. Front and rear case wear rings allow for minimal axial thrust and ensure that standard, off-the-shelf JP Frame motors can be used. All shaft sleeves are offered standard in 420 stainless steel. Brackets feature jack screws for easy casing disassembly when the need for service arises. Stuffing box drip basins feature a drilled and tapped drain location so packing leakage can be plumbed to a location at the job site keeping the pump assembly clean and free of debris.
All pumps have suction and discharge gauges installed with 304 stainless steel buffer tubing (for stable pressure readings) as well as 304 stainless steel ball valves. Lastly, each stuffing box will be protected by a 304 stainless steel, metal safety guard keeping safety a paramount priority.
Significant time was spent during the engineering phase of design pertaining to impeller geometry and volute design. All impellers are or a Francis design featuring broad band efficiency and all casings are of the single volute design with increased pump efficiency. Ameriflo uses powerful 3D solids modeling software with a concentrated focus on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to literally squeeze every last amount of performance from each and every model. This design greatly surpasses other designs that have literally not changed in 30 or more years!!
All models can also be poured out of a variety of optional metallurgies when the pump fluid is slightly brackish or is 100 percent sea water. All Navy bronze, 316 stainless steel, 2205 & 2507 super duplex stainless steel constructions are available for every SC model allowing Ameriflo to focus on each an every fire protection application regardless of pumped fluid. Most manufacturers supply only standard materials and run from the highly engineered alternative metallurgy applications. The main reason Ameriflo can offer these exotic materials is because when the tooling was engineered it was manufactured out of aluminum and uses ceramic cores allowing nearly any pourable material to be used with the current pattern and tooling equipment.
Future posts will focus on the official release date of this product line and updates on our third party testing.
As always, thank you for your interest in Ameriflo and we welcome you to The Future of Fire Protection.
